Just drive, she said
Jan. 10th, 2006 07:52 amDear people who commute via the Gardiner between Islington and Spadina,
Many of you were not on the road yesterday, both inbound and outbound. Wherever you were? I'd like you to go back there, please.
This morning, you added 15 minutes to my commute because you were gawking at a single vehicle accident over on Lakeshore Boulevard. Now, 15 minutes may not seem like all that much, but since my drive in usually takes 13 minutes, portal-to-portal, I quite resent the delay.
What is it about you that makes you SLOW DOWN on a major highway to look at something that has absolutely nothing to do with you? It's not blocking any of the lanes. It's not endangering you in any way. It's on a parallel roadway. Are you really so starved for entertainment that you'll slow down to look at some flashing lights and a cracked up SUV?
Do me a favour. Listen to the radio. Listen to a CD and sing along. Listen to an audiobook. And don't slow down to look at accidents you rubbernecking freaks!
*sigh*
