The Lesser of Two Weevils: being the writings of two nice ladies

1. Just in case you managed to miss it, we're doing a poll on ncis_tinsel to determine if/how to run the festive fic exchange this year.

2. I am so tired, I could cry.

3. Didn't watch NCIS or House or The Unit or L&O:CI last night because I was too sleepy after aquafit to turn on the DVR. And then spent most of the night lying awake thinking, "I've got to get to sleep!"

4. K was also unable to sleep so we used the time productively. There's always a silver lining.

5. Speaking of K, she got a job offer yesterday and an invitation for a job interview. Neither of these are as good as the job she started earlier this month. Oh, so much fun to say, "You snooze, you lose, assholes." But in a non-bridge-burning kind of way.

6. Trying very hard not to kill these fuckwads who keep hitting "reply all" to emails that I don't care about.

7. Of the good, I was able to shame a client this morning! They were all, "Why haven't you done anything on project X?" And I was all, "Um, I sent you that stuff seven weeks ago and you ignored it because you were going on vacation. Then I reminded you about it four weeks ago and you didn't bother to respond. SO BITE ME. I am not your tickler file."

8. I like my job and, after a year, I think I'm getting pretty good at it. What's making me a little nuts right now is the one who writes everything in the same junior high newspaper style and is stubbornly stupid about accepting concrit and the other one who comes back from lunch smelling of booze every single day.

9. Do yourself a favour. Even if you're not into NCIS, go and read crimsonquills's Awakening, which is very good and its sequel Synergy, which is the most engaging piece of fanfic I've read in a very long time. Possibly ever.

10. There is no tenth thing. Other than we're having fajitas for dinner tonight. See you around 6.

Still no really juicy Gibbs/DiNozzo to speak of, but finishing two ncis_flashfic challenges in a row and doing a one-off Numb3rs fic seems to have broken the curse.

Actually, I think what did it was me buying a new computer and router so we could set up a home network. Now, K and I can IM each other....from four feet away. We tried other methods, but we couldn't really get in the writing groove. Mind you, writing this latest NCIS piece for the "Sins and Virtues" challenge was like pulling teeth. Actually, once we nailed down the concept, it wasn't terribly onerous. ( But getting there was painful. )

1. My NCIS Season One DVD shipped yesterday! That means it will be delivered tomorrow! Or mayb even today!

2. My box of age-inappropriate clothing still hasn't arrived. I'm convinced that it's in some customs shed somewhere and they're walking around in my new shoes.

3. I am SUCH a grown-up! I'm going to arrange for a home equity line of credit this morning to pay for the upcoming renovations. Meep.

4. Finally making a serious dent in my "must read" fic pile. Several of you will be getting feedback goodies in your stockings.
