1. Happy Marine Corps Birthday! (NOTE: it's a little LOUD. *smooch* to K for the link).
2. On a more sombre note, today is also the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The song's been in my head since 0530 this morning, so y'all have to listen to it, too:

3. In about seven hours, I'll be landing at PHL and then be ferried to The Town That Time Forgot by my lovely bride. There will be panini and canoodling.
4. Now that I've gotten this out of my system, some thoughts on NCIS 3x08: Under Covers:
There were things that I really disliked about this episode. But the likeable stuff more than made up for it. And it gave us SO much fodder for fic!
Ziva is hot. And not entirely infallible for once! Yay!
Tony is hotter. That squishing sound you heard was me melting into a puddle at that first kiss.
I have seriously had enough with the Gibbs/Shepard flashbacks.
The wardrobe department made me very happy in this episode -- Tony's bathrobe, his rich assasin clothes, the glasses *leer*, Abby's bowling outfit, and Ducky's tuxedo with his collection of medals *heart*
I am tired of Madame Director. I am tired of her insecurity and micromanaging and fake boobs. And I got really tired when I found out that she's not going anywhere. She's staying through the season. Fuckety fuck. She is taking up space that could be filled by more Ducky. Or more Abby. Or more McGee. *sigh*
McGee rocks. He's going from strength to strength and it makes me very proud of our Probie.
Words cannot adequately express how happy I get when Tony gets to show what he's made of as a Senior Field Agent. He is *that* good.
The Fornell and Gibbs show had me howling.
Tony yelling, "I'm in position, Boss." when woken from a sound sleep made my slashy little heart go pitter-patter.
Ditto for Gibbs giving Tony directions and encouragement while he and Ziva were "distracting" the FBI agents.
And that end bit? With Gibbs and the flask and the 'miss you' and the 'semper fi'? Weeping. Just weeping. And then declarations of love for DPB for that shout out to the Marine Corps Birthday.
An amusing anecdote: Last weekend, before we knew what this ep was going to be about, K was telling me that her mom had been invited to a Marine Corps Birthday Ball. This sent the two of us on a lively tangent involving Gibbs, DiNozzo, and a birthday cake. I'll let y'all fill in the details.

What did you dislike in the ep? Besides Madame Directrix? Or was that mainly it?

Date: 2005-11-11 05:23 am (UTC)I have two co-workers who are big NCIS fans and we spend a portion of every Wednesday morning discussing the previous night's episode. And the consensus is that we are all very much tired of the flashbacks. And none of us like the director. And I'm still not sure if I like David.
But Tony totally rocked my world. :)
