1. Well, in spite of all the digits that were being crossed and all the good wishes that were sent, the bastards declined even to interview me for this job. Their loss. Anyone who wants to continue keeping their fingers crossed that I find a job which doesn't make me wear a uniform or ask permission to go to the washroom, please feel free.

2. This is how I consoled myself, after railing at the universe for a while: horrifying my wife. You could cross Good Eats with Iron Chef America since Alton Brown is on both shows. I'm envisioning a kind of Secret Lives of the Iron Chefs thing where Morimoto and that other giant man are the porn stars, Bobby Flay is the fluffer, and Alton Brown is still fulfilling his role as Fukui-san. Gives "Take it, Ohta" a whole new meaning.

3. If you want to get that image out of your head, and I suspect you do, go read Rule 8. Yes, it says it's by both the weevils, but since M. wrote 99% of it (really, I think I added about five words), I feel justified in pimping it here.

4. Also, see my new icon? M. made it for me, because they call me The Proofreader. Fear me.

5. If you live in the US and get cable, C-SPAN will be simulcasting the CBC's coverage of the election results tonight, starting at 10 p.m. EST. And if you don't watch C-SPAN or visit their website every now and then, you're missing out.

6. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Canada tonight. See you all on the flip side.

*Looks around with shifty eyes* I kinda have a crush on Bobby Flay. I don't know why since he's a snarky asshole sometimes but I think it has to do with his cooking skills. I love a man that can cook.

I once saw him stand on his cutting board, though, on the first Battle of the Iron Chefs or whatever it was, about four years ago. Gross.

My mother-in-law would say that there's a reason I didn't get that job--something better is waiting, or that job would have been horrible. That works for me.

I am also in the peculiar position of having written slash about our ::chokes:: apparent Prime Minister.

Well, don't stop now. We're going to need all the diversion we can get. *hugs*

That icon above was supposed to be this one. *giggle* I need more coffee.

Speaking of coffee, how is your coffee plant doing?

Yes, yes they are. Oh well. It wasn't like I was pinning all my hopes on them; I'd just like to get the job hunt over with, and this sounded like it would have been a good fit for me.

*hugs back* Thank you!

I'm sorry about the election. *hugs*

In chefly related things, [livejournal.com profile] lcsbanana and I once came up with an idea for a manga/anime like Bistro SMAP with less singing and Anthony Bourdain in it. It would have a recipe at the end of every issue/show. And maybe boykissing.

Hee! I would love to see the anime version of Anthony Bourdain. I'm not crazy about him in person, but I think he would amuse me in two-dimensional form. Would he be doing the boykissing? Would there be guest star chefs? *giggle*

Thanks for cheering me up on a very depressing morning! *hugs*

Bastards! And it *is* their loss. Look at it this way: They're obviously so stupid, working for them would have been like working for Falsone. *g*

Thank you! And I agree, they are that stupid. I really just hope there is something out there for me somewhere.

Speaking of Homicide, how about this icon M. made? I wrote a story once in which Bolander encounters Falsone--who is mystified when Bolander asks him for a quarter--so the Bolander icon always gives me a giggle.
