Not dead. Not resting, either.

Umm...hi?
It's been over two weeks since I posted an entry, so I thought I'd just let y'all know that we are alive. I've been SLOWLY catching up on my reading. A number of you are sick. That sucks. Get better soon.
K and I are still adjusting to cohabitation. We're slowly settling into something of a routine -- we just need to find a way to get things accomplished while still engaging in Married People Time. There's just so much to do around the house. When we're both home, there's always something that needs attention and it's hard to prioritize -- is getting the new dresser built more urgent than giving the cat a bath?
We did manage to do some writing by dint of stopping by a park on the way home from grocery shopping one morning. We sat in the car, in the rain, sipping coffee, eating Timbits, and talking through some background stuff while K took notes. It worked fairly well - no distractions. But if we're going to make this a habit, we'll have to get a laptop -- longhand is for the birds, man.
And we've both been so TIRED. It makes no sense. We're going to bed much earlier, but we're still both dragging ass all the time.
Oh, and? Our cycles seem to by synching up again, so we're both insanely hormonal right now. Meep!
More later. Probably.

Date: 2006-05-01 01:56 pm (UTC)As one of those sickies, I appreciate your thoughts. This cough is gonna kill me! If it's not the sensation of swallowing broken glass, it's having to do a load of panties because I'm going through them like crazy, lol. (Yeah, not as fun as it sounds. *g*)

Date: 2006-05-01 05:52 pm (UTC)My mother's cure for colds and sore throats is as follows: Pour 1 oz of whiskey into a mug (I prefer bourbon, but YMMV). Pour ginger ale into the mug until it's 3/4 full. Microwave the whole thing for 45 seconds. Drink and enjoy. It will soothe your throat and probably put you out for the night.
It beats the hell out of Benelyn.

Date: 2006-05-02 03:07 am (UTC)I learned this, painfully, the first time I went on a trip after getting really involved in LJ. I ended up paying for an internet connection to get back in touch. Couldn't even take it for 24 hours. I'm weak. *g*
K and I are settling down into something of a routine now, so I'm sure we're going to get back on the writing and commenting horse soon.
Yay!

*clears throat*
A little too effusive? Sorry. ;-)
Okay, then. I've been thinking of the two of you often, and hoping that you're settling in comfortably -- figuring out how to share time and space and life with someone when you're used to living alone is hard, no matter how wonderful the relationship -- and enjoying being together. It's lovely to see a post from you, and I'll look forward to hearing from you whenever it fits into your lives, whether with RL stuff or fannishness.
It's just not the same around here without you. You are missed.

Date: 2006-05-02 12:35 pm (UTC)I'm thinking either a laptop, or we get K's computer set up next to mine in the office so we can write via IM the way we used to.

Date: 2006-05-02 03:01 am (UTC)Yep, longhand sucks. Although typing can bite, sometimes, too. *sticks out tongue at sore wrist*

Date: 2006-05-02 12:37 pm (UTC)My writing-with-a-pen muscles seem to have atrophied. I can't believe that I used to take such copious notes when I was in school -- now, I can barely stand to write a grocery list with a pen. Oy.
